How will QIOs assist beneficiaries under the Nursing Home Quality Initiative?

The Quality Improvement Organizations (QIOs) have extensive experience helping providers improve quality. The QIOs will extend their informational and educational efforts by highlighting the availability of quality performance data and promoting the use of that information when consumers need to select a nursing home. The QIOs' relationships with local media and community, health care, and business organizations will be crucial to this program. QIOs also will be available to help beneficiaries who have questions about how to use the quality information in selecting a nursing home.
