What happens when I file a complaint?

Once the State survey agency gets your complaint, it will:

  1. Evaluate the complaint to see if the provider violated a rule
  2. Investigate the compliant by visiting the facility or sending a letter or refer the complaint to another agency
  3. Recommend and take action against the facility
  4. Notify you of their findings
