CMS is posting volume and cost information on Hospital Compare to meet two of the Department of Health and Human Services' four cornerstones for health care improvement - to measure and publish quality and price information. Consumers can now use the process of care and outcome measures as well as cost information to compare hospitals and make informed decisions about where to get their hospital care.
